New judo season will be open with First
international tournament in Tbilisi. European Open 2013 will take place in Tbilisi Sport Palace On
February 2-3. more then 20 countries will take part in this competition:Japan, France, Russia,
Greece, Hungary, Ukraine, Belarus, Turkey, Great Britain, Iran, Slovenia, Israel, Bulgaria,
Canada, Romania, Kazakhstan, Serbia, Lithuania, Latvia, Azerbaijan and Armenia. Last year
Georgian Judokas won in 6 weight categories from 7.Lasha Shavdatuashvili was one of the winners
of Tbilisi world Cup , who become Olympic Champion U66kg and is currnet rankleader of the
IJF World Ranking. but Georgian Olimpic Champion with Avtandil Chrikishvilin and Varlam
Liparteliani will open the season at Paris Grand Slam on February 9-10.At the Tbilisi international
tournament, Georgian Wrestling Federation plans to see off Olympic and world
champion Irakli Tsirekidze from active sport.
New head coach of Georgian team Irakli Uznadze announced
the participants for this tournament.Traditionally
Georgian national team will represent 4 Judokas in each category.
